Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has alleged that former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, is critical of President Bola Tinubu due to being overlooked for the vice-presidential position.
Speaking on Channels Television鈥檚 Politics Today on Tuesday, August 19, Wike claimed Lawal visited him in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, alongside a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, shortly after Tinubu announced his running mate, expressing frustration over not being selected.
鈥淗is anger was that he thought Mr President would have chosen him as the vice-presidential candidate. Having not done that, he let loose,鈥 Wike stated, describing Lawal鈥檚 recent criticisms of Tinubu鈥檚 governance style as driven by personal disappointment rather than objective concerns.
