The Script are set to play Glastonbury’s famous Pyramid Stage this weekend on Saturday, June 28. The chart-topping band from Ireland first played the festival in 2008. Currently on a world tour following the release of their seventh studio album Satellites, the four-piece will make their way to Worthy Farm after playing Cardiff Castle on Thursday, June 26. They are also scheduled to play at the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza, a separate event held at the Abbey, on August 9. The band, led by frontman Danny O’Donoghue, are known for their hit singles The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Breakeven and For the First Time. Satellites is the band’s first album since the death of its co-founder, Mark Sheehan, in 2023 at the age of 46. Since his passing, the band has introduced Ben Sargeant and Ben Weaver as new members. The Script will take to Glastonbury’s main stage, the Pyramid Stage, this year. The band are playing on Saturday afternoon, June 28. Their set will start at 3pm and last for 1 hour, finishing at 4pm, according to the Glastonbury website. Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts will be headlining on the Pyramid Stage later that evening, and other performers coming after The Script include RAYE and Patchwork. Highlights from the five main stages will be shown on the BBC iPlayer, as well as on BBC One and Two at various points over the weekend. Throughout the weekend, fans will be able to watch continuous live streams from the Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Park and Woodsies stages. Glastonbury performers sometimes bring out special guests during their performance, sometimes performing with artists they have collaborated with before or taking the opportunity to team up with someone else on the line up they wouldn’t usually share a stage with. Glasto goers have been taken by surprise with huge stars turning up on the Pyramid Stage plenty of times before. Last year, Coldplay brought on Hollywood legend Michael J Fox for an emotional performance of Fix You, as well as rapper Little Simz, who performed We Pray with the band. In 2023, Elton John brought out four special guests for his set, including The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. In 2022, Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen joined headliner Paul McCartney, the former Beatle, on stage. While The Script have not confirmed they will bring out any special guests during their performance, singer Tom Walker – who has been supporting the band on their recent tour – will also be at the festival, playing the Field of Avalon over the weekend. The band may also have some other tricks up their sleeve, with lead singer Danny starting in the crowd in recent concerts and coming down from the stage and singing in the audience during their song Nothing. The latest set list that we have is from the band’s most recent tour, the SATELLITES WORLD TOUR. The setlist has been shared online by Setlist.fm.
