Brian Jonestown Massacre will be performing on the West Holts Stage today as they return to Glastonbury . The American rock band first played the festival in 2008 on the Pyramid Stage. First formed in 1990 in California, the group has released 20 studio albums, six compilation albums, five live albums, 14 EPs and 24 singles, as well as two various-artist compilation albums to date. The band combines a variety of sub-genres, including psychedelic rock, garage rock, shoegaze and folk rock. Some of their popular songs include, Anemone, Open Heart Surgery and It Girl. Their name is a combination of the name Brian Jones – the founder of the Rolling Stones – and the Jonestown Massacre – the 1978 incident where over 900 followers of cult leader Jim Jones died in a mass murder-suicide. Since forming, members of the band have frequently changed. There are currently 24 people listed as former members of the band online. The current line up is listed as founder Anton Newcombe (vocals, guitar), Matt Hollywood (guitar, vocals), Ricky Rene Maymi (drums, bass), Patrick Straczek (guitar) and Travis Threlkel (guitar). In 2004, the band was the subject of the documentary Dig! by Ondi Timoner. The film was shot over a period of eight years and followed Brian Jonestown Massacre and fellow rock group The Dandy Warhols through their careers and the love-hate relationship of the bands’ respective frontmen. Brian Jonestown Massacre will be performing on the West Holts Stage on Sunday, June 29. Their set will start at 6.30pm and last for an hour, finishing at 7.30pm, according to the Glastonbury website. Highlights from the five main stages will be shown on the BBC iPlayer, as well as on BBC One and Two at various points over the weekend. Throughout the weekend, fans will be able to watch continuous live streams from the Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Park and Woodsies stages. Glastonbury performers sometimes bring out special guests during their performance, sometimes performing with artists they have collaborated with before or taking the opportunity to team up with someone else on the line up they wouldn’t usually share a stage with. Glasto goers have been taken by surprise with huge stars turning up on the Pyramid Stage plenty of times before. Last year, Coldplay brought on Hollywood legend Michael J Fox for an emotional performance of Fix You, as well as rapper Little Simz, who performed We Pray with the band. In 2023, Elton John brought out four special guests for his set, including The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. In 2022, Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen joined headliner Paul McCartney, the former Beatle, on stage. While The Brian Jonestown Massacre don’t frequently feature special guests on stage, they have been known to bring out support acts, such as Project Gemini, Les Big Byrd, and others, to open for them during tours. The latest complete set list that we have is from Brian Jonestown Massacre’s recent live show at Batschkapp in Frankfurt. The setlist has been shared online by Setlist.fm. When The Brian Jonestown Massacre is on the West Holts Stage from 18.30 – 19.30 on Sunday, June 29, the other four main stages will host
