What time The 1975 is playing Glastonbury Pyramid Stage tonight - expected set list, special guest rumours and clashes

The 1975 will close Glastonbury’s first full day of music on Friday night with a debut headline set on the Pyramid Stage. The award-winning band, hailing from Wilmslow in Cheshire, have been working hard on a new album in recent months but will be making a rare appearance at the festival as part of their limited live dates this year. In March, the pop outfit rounded off their Still… At Their Very Best tour, following the success of their fifth studio album Being Funny In A Foreign Language. Their recent live shows have featured the band playing on an elaborate set laid out to look like a house, complete with doors, a staircase, sofas and various other items that are incorporated into the performance. The band, led by frontman Matty Healy, are known for incorporating theatrical elements into their shows, with moments like the singer crawling inside a television and eating raw meat sending fans wild. The 1975 are returning to Glastonbury nearly a decade after their last appearance, which took place on the Other Stage in 2016 and came shortly after the release of their second album. With three more albums now under the belts and a new one on the way, fans will be expecting the band to put on a special performance at Worthy Farm. They’ve already teased a “special collaborative project” will be unveiled during their set having previously asked fans to submit their favourite memories of the band for inclusion. Here’s what you need to know about The 1975’s set, including the start time, who might join them, the songs to expect and more. The 1975 will be the first headliners to take to Glastonbury’s main stage, the Pyramid Stage, this year. The band are playing on Friday night, June 27. Their set will start at 10.15pm and last for 1 hour and 30 minutes, finishing at 11.45pm, according to the Glastonbury website. Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro will open for the 1975 on the Pyramid Stage, between 8.15pm and 9.15pm. Highlights from the five main stages will be shown on the BBC iPlayer, as well as on BBC One and Two at various points over the weekend. According to the latest TV listings, The 1975’s set will be broadcast live from 10.30pm on BBC One on Friday, June 27. Throughout the weekend, fans will be able to watch continuous live streams from the Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Park and Woodsies stages. Glastonbury headliners often bring out special guests during their performance, sometimes performing with artists they have collaborated with before or taking the opportunity to team up with someone else on the line up they wouldn’t usually share a stage with. Glasto goers have been taken by surprise with huge stars turning up on the Pyramid Stage plenty of times before. Last year, Coldplay brought on Hollywood legend Michael J Fox for an emotional performance of Fix You, as well as rapper Little Simz, who performed We Pray with the band. In 2023, Elton John brought out four special guests for his set, including The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. In 2022, Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen joined headliner Paul McCartney, the former Beatle, on stage. The 1975 are likely to have some surprises up their sleeve for their debut headline set, with plenty of surprise guests popping on recent tour dates. Phoebe Bridgers and Lewis Capaldi both appeared with the band during the At Their Very Best tour. Global megastar Taylor Swift even took a break from her Eras Tour to join the band in London. In Manchester, Charli XCX, who is engaged to 1975 drummer George Daniel, made a special appearance. With Charli also featuring on the Glastonbury line up, fans have been speculating that the two artists might be teaming up while at the festival. The 1975 featured on Charli’s track I Might Say Something Stupid on the Brat remix album, along with Jon Hopkins. Matty’s dad, actor Tim Healey, who starred in Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Benidorm, has previously performed with the band too, popping up on several occasions during their recent tours. Keeping it in the family, the band have also been known to bring out Carly Holt, who is married to guitarist Adam Hann, on occasion to perform the female vocal part in About You. The latest set list that we have is from the final gig of the band’s most recent tour, when they performed at AFAS Live in Amsterdam on March 24. The setlist been shared online by Setlist.fm.
