Setting up a business in Sharjah just got a lot easier. The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has introduced a new 鈥淚nstant License鈥 service that allows entrepreneurs to obtain a commercial license within one working day. The initiative eliminates the need for a Memorandum of Association or a signed lease contract during the first year, simplifying starting a business in the emirate.As reported by Emirates News Agency-WAM, the Sharjah Executive Council approves the service. Under the Instant License, investors can begin operations immediately and employ up to three workers under each license. However, after the first year, businesses must complete the usual licensing requirements to continue operating legally.SEDD stated that the initiative also intends to curb unlicensed business activity by offering a fast and legal alternative. It is expected to give new entrepreneurs and expanding companies a head start, especially in sectors aligned with Sharjah鈥檚 economic goals.Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, said the department is working to build a flexible and supportive regulatory environment.
