Shani Sade Sati happens to be one of the most talked-about phases in Vedic astrology. It is that one phase which is feared by everyone. Why? Because it is often associated with challenges, delays and spiritual growth. The term “Sade Sati” refers to a period of 7.5 years during which the planet Saturn transits through the zodiac signs that are just before, during, and after a person鈥檚 moon sign. Saturn spends approximately 2.5 years in each zodiac sign. Basically, when it transits through the 12th house (sign before the Moon sign), the 1st house (the Moon sign itself), and the 2nd house (the sign after the Moon sign) – the total duration becomes 7.5 years. While this period is always feared, it is important to note that it is not all negative. This time is also when you will experience great personal transformation, responsibility and maturity. How It Works?During the first phase, a person is believed to experience financial strain, emotional isolation and even health-related issues. It is also a time for introspection and letting go of things that no longer serve one鈥檚 purpose. The second phase (Saturn in the Moon sign), on the other hand, is the most intense. This is when emotional challenges peak and a person may feel depressed, misunderstood or even burdened with responsibilities. The third phase (Saturn in the 2nd house) deals with family, speech, and accumulated wealth. Communication issues and family conflicts may arise. This phase can also be equally rewarding. Here are some Do’s and Don’ts to follow. The do鈥檚 include staying disciplined, being patient, helping the underprivileged, staying humble, and practicing meditation. One should also chant the Shani Beej Mantra or Hanuman Chalisa, regularly. Respecting elders, especially one鈥檚 father or father figures, is believed to reduce Saturn’s harshness.Don鈥檛s include indulging in unethical practices, lying, disrespecting authority, or harming others, especially the poor or disabled.
