Death Stranding 2: On the Beach picks up where the original game left off, almost instantly dropping us into a strangely intriguing story about the chiral networks, DOOMS, the Death Stranding itself, and other mysteries. You’ll be interacting with a lot of familiar faces, and meeting new ones, and the game will even want to know when your birthday is.
What happens on your birthday in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach?
Much like in the original Death Stranding, your date of birth doesn’t seem to have a tremendous impact on any important aspect of the game. It does allude to an impact on your DOOMS, stating the following information, but only after you select your birthday.
“Whilst DOOMS can afflict almost anyone, those born under constellations with a greater connection to the Beach鈥攊ncluding Cancer, Pisces, Cetus, and Delphinus鈥攁re said to be more susceptible to developing the condition. It is believed that such individuals are fated to walk a life path fraught with disquiet and turmoil.”
Interesting, this is a little different from the original game, as that mentions all four of the ones mentioned here, but also includes Gigas (an old name for Orion), which is now absent. Also, Cetus and Delphinus are not signs of the Zodiac, implying that the world has become a different place since the Death Stranding, and the existence of the Beach has changed these old concepts and put a new twist on them.
The relevant dates for those birth constellations can be found below:
Cancer: June 21 – July 22
Pisces: February 18 – March 20
Cestus: November
Delphinus: September
On the day of your birthday, various characters will surprise you with a rendition of Happy Birthday. This might be a bit confusing if you are not far into the game, as there will be some unfamiliar faces, but it’s a funny enough scene and a nice touch.
