In a tectonic shift in Maharashtra politics, two estranged cousins 鈥 Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray 鈥 hinted at a political reunion after two decades during a mega rally in Mumbai on Saturday.
鈥淢any are raising doubts whether we will stick together till the BMC elections are over. Let me tell you all we are here for Marathi and will be together for Marathi,鈥 Uddhav said at the event at the NSCI Dome in Worli.
鈥淩aj, from today onwards, we are together. We have come together and now again they will try to divide us,鈥 the Shiv Sena UBT chief added.
Several Opposition leaders, including Sharad Pawar鈥檚 daughter Supriya Sule, were present at the reunion event, even as Congress remained absent on the occasion.
Uddhav affirmed that the two cousins will fight together against attempts to divide them.
鈥淣ow both of us will throw out who wants to divide us,鈥 he said.
