Crisp lovers are buzzing with excitement after Walkers subtly unveiled a new addition to its iconic Quavers lineup. Originally launched in just cheese flavour, the brand has since expanded to include prawn cocktail and barbecue varieties in recent times. Now, a fresh flavour has hit supermarket shelves, and fans are eager to try it out. A TikTok user who managed to grab a pack on its debut day shared her enthusiastic review with her followers. Clutching a multipack in her car, Libby May Fitzpatrick exclaimed: “I saw these were coming out today and I ran. I love Quavers, they are my favourite crisp and they are only 84 calories per packet.” The latest flavour? Red Leicester. Libby May couldn’t hide her delight, saying: “They smell so good. “Who loves Red Leicester? I do. It is the best.” And the verdict on the taste? “Better than the normal ones,” she added. “They are so cheesy. Sorry yellow ones – Red Leicester has taken over.” Libby May couldn’t resist praising them further: “They are so good – make sure you give them a go. Like I said earlier, I love that the whole bag is only 84 calories.” Retailing at £1.35 for a larger bag and £1.99 for a six-pack, other TikTok users also expressed their eagerness to try the new flavour. “I love Red Leicester, I need to look out for these!” one commented. Another was keen to sample them: “Bet they taste delicious, mmmm I have to try these.” A third shared their anticipation: “Omg I’m not joking the only thing my husband eats is cheese and this his favourite one, he’s gonna cry. I’m so buying them.” One fan’s reaction was simple yet enthusiastic: “OMG I NEED to try these.” Meanwhile, on Instagram, users revealed they had spotted the new Red Leicester Quavers at local shops and Farm Foods branches. UK Food and Drink Wholesale announced the product’s launch on Instagram, saying: “Savour the New Cheesy Flavour from Walkers!”. “Get ready for Red Leicester Quavers – a fresh twist on the classic cheesy snack. With its bold, tangy, and irresistibly moreish taste, this new flavour is set to win over snack fans everywhere.” Quavers first hit UK shelves in 1968, initially made by Smith’s Crisps in Lincoln before being acquired by Walkers in 1997. The brand’s original slogan was: “You get a lovely lot of Quavers in a bag”. Over the years, various flavours have been introduced, only to be discontinued later, including salt and vinegar, bacon, cheese and onion, and Chinese spicy beef. Two limited edition flavours, tomato ketchup and sweet and sour, have also made brief appearances on store shelves, meanwhile.
