Vismay Patel Opens Up On New Track 'Mile Tum': 'I Take A Break From Music When…' | Exclusive

There are a few silver linings that people hold on to from the pandemic era, but one of them is the soulful debut of Vismay Patel. When he released Pal Behta Jaye, a soothing pop ballad that captured hearts across the world, he became a quiet sensation in India’s indie music scene. With its tender lyrics and calm, immersive energy, the track gave voice to emotions many couldn’t articulate at the time.
Now, years later, Patel has done it again with Mile Tum, a deeply personal love song that explores the idea of finally meeting someone who truly completes you.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Patel shared that the inspiration for Mile Tum came from a thought many overlook. While countless songs focus on heartbreak or fleeting attraction, he noticed that no one was really singing about “what it feels like to find the right person that completes our checklist”. He shared that the track is about exploring what that emotional completeness, that sense of someone fitting into your life like the last piece of a puzzle feels like.
When it comes to measuring success, he shared that he balances both numbers and impact. He admits, “Views, likes, and comments do matter; they reflect reach. But I also watch for signs that go deeper, for instance – are people listening to it on loop? Are they engaging emotionally? That is what matters more.”
Moreover, like other artists, Vismay revealed that he is no stranger to the writer’s block, however his approach to it is refreshingly honest as he discloses “I take a break from music, I chill with friends, go out to party and come back refreshed, that is what helps me get over a creative hump.”
While talking about modern relationships, the singer only had one piece of advice for Gen Z that is – slow down. In a world of instant matches and constant scrolling, he urged young people to take time to understand whether someone is truly right for them.
Lastly, when asked about which musical era he would like to revisit, Patel shared, “I’d like to go back to my era that is the early 2000s, when artists like KK and A.R. Rahman shaped the Indian music scene.”
Whether it’s philosophical ballads or soul-churning love tracks, for Vismay, making music is clearly not just about the numbers — it’s about honesty, instinct, and timing and right now, everything seems to be falling into place!
