Let her rest. She鈥檚 an old woman. She鈥檒l go back when it鈥檚 time, I promise.鈥欌漌hat came next stunned him.The officer paused and said gently, 鈥淚 can’t let an old woman sit on a chair for two days. Let me see what I can do.鈥. Within minutes, Wissam鈥檚 mother emerged, calm and smiling鈥攃ompletely unaware there had been any issue with her visa.鈥淲hen I asked her how she got through, she said, 鈥榃hat visa?鈥 She didn鈥檛 know anything had gone wrong.鈥漌issam rushed to thank the officer, who preferred to remain anonymous. His only reply:鈥淏rother, my heart wouldn鈥檛 let me. She鈥檚 an old woman. You trusted me without even knowing me.
