Vernon Kay hopes Oasis don’t play one of their most iconic tracks on tour after delivering a brutal verdict. Vernon, 51, was speaking on his BBC Radio 2 show after playing the beloved Songbird song. The long-awaited 41-date tour begins in Cardiff on July 4 and will last all the way until November 23 as the band travel around the world for the first time in nearly two decades with the band鈥檚 last performance in 2009. The reunion has generated a lot of excitement amongst fans young and old of the Gallagher brothers, and many will have songs they can鈥檛 wait to hear again. Giving his verdict on what he hopes to hear, Vernon was honest about one track, though good, he hoped didn鈥檛 make it as he wanted lots of energy. He said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e just had Songbird by Oasis. One track that, I鈥檒l be honest with you, I hope they don鈥檛 play tomorrow night because I just want bangers. 鈥淚 just want high bpm energy. Let鈥檚 go, I just want everyone jumping up and down. I know it鈥檚 a classic, I know it鈥檚 a beauty but c鈥檓on. We will see, it鈥檚 going to be very very exciting.鈥 However, there is concern that just because there are 41-dates on the tour doesn鈥檛 mean there will be 41-concerts with some fans worried about the brothers falling out. There鈥檚 also fears they鈥檒l be irritated not by each other, but by the audience. Since their last performance, the smartphone has come to the fore and many concert-goers watch performances not with their eyes, but through their phones. This has irritated Liam, 52, who, in the past has spoken about the matter with great emotion, reports the Metro . The frontman said: 鈥淭his day and age is f***** now. Camera phones. People go to concerts and film. They鈥檙e not in the moment. It will never be the same. Rock and roll. Forget Oasis. 鈥淔orget whether you like the music or not. Going to a concert will never be the same as what it was back then in the 90s. Now, whether it鈥檚 a small gig or a big gig, they鈥檙e all like that on their f****** phones. I鈥檓 dead proud we got in there before it ended.鈥 Liam isn鈥檛 the only artist to have called out the trend of mass phone use at concerts, with Sabrina Carpenter allegedly mulling over introducing a phone ban. Last month, she told Rolling Stone: 鈥淚鈥檝e grown up in the age of people having iPhones at shows. 鈥淚t unfortunately feels super normal to me. I can鈥檛 blame people for wanting to have memories. 鈥淏ut depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away. You cannot zoom in on my face.鈥
