Shah Rukh Khan has temporarily moved out of Mannat, his renowned sea-facing home, while it is being renovated. During this time, he and his family are living in Puja Casa, a luxury four-story house in Bandra. Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, the children of Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani, own the house. The house has been rented to Shah Rukh Khan and his family while Mannat gets a new look.
In conversation with Reviewron, Vashu Bhagnani discussed the emotional significance of Puja Casa and how the home was created out of love and commitment to his wife, Puja Bhagnani. In addition to his cinematic career, Vashu ventured into real estate. During his early years in Mumbai, his wife had one simple request that was to own a one-bedroom flat in Bandra, a neighbourhood she adored greatly. He shared, 鈥淎ndheri East wasn鈥檛 the most desirable area back then. My wife would often say, 鈥楶lease get us a one-bedroom house in Bandra.鈥 By a stroke of luck, my friend Govardhan Tanwani had a property on 383 Linking Road. When I asked him about renting it, he kindly offered it to us without charging rent.鈥
The couple stayed there for almost a year and a half while Vashu worked ceaselessly on property development and construction. He recalled, 鈥淚n 2009, I gifted her an entire building in Bandra鈥檚 Pali Hill and named it Puja Casa after her. She had asked for 1BHK, so I gave her a whole building. I had promised myself I would never sell it鈥攐nly rent it out. It would be my backup in tough times. In film production, you never know when you will hit a slump.鈥
Vashu Bhagnani said that many other of his industry friends live in the same building. He explained that some circumstances forced him to sell parts of the building over the years.
Vashu鈥檚 affection for Puja Bhagnani goes much beyond. Most of Vashu鈥檚 properties and commercial ventures bear her name.
Shah Rukh Khan鈥檚 family reportedly leased two magnificent duplex apartments at Puja Casa, According to reports, the monthly rent for the premises is a hefty Rs 24 lakh.
