US Vice President J.D. Vance offered critics 鈥榯he bird鈥 during a Republican Party event in Lima, Ohio, on Tuesday, in a thinly-veiled criticism of political culture in Washington, DC.
Vance, the second-highest official in the US government, used the offensive signal to mock people who respond rudely to door-to-door canvassing.
鈥滻 know it’s not always easy to be a political candidate, trust me. And in Washington, DC they have this thing where 鈥 I think it means 鈥榳e鈥檙e number one in Washington, DC鈥 鈥 but all the pink-haired people throw up this sign,鈥 he said, flipping his middle finger, as the audience erupted in laughter.
鈥滱ll kidding aside, sometimes this job of politics is inspiring, and sometimes it鈥檚 hard work,鈥 Vance added, encouraging aspiring politicians to embrace both the challenges and rewards of public service in pursuit of a better future for future generations.
Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump used the word 鈥渇**k鈥 on-camera while speaking of his frustration over Israeli and Iranian ceasefire violations.
鈥漌e basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they do not know what the f**k they are doing,鈥 Trump told reporters Tuesday before departing for the NATO summit in the Netherlands.
