Uttarakhand wants Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana in its school syllabus. The state government has requested NCERT to include these texts in 17,000 government schools. Until the new syllabus arrives, students will recite verses from these scriptures during prayer. NCERT recently released a new textbook, Veena, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
