University Of Leeds, University Of Delhi Sign MoU To Boost Research & Academic Ties

Marking a significant step forward in fostering international academic ties, the University of Leeds (UoL) and the University of Delhi (DU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation in research, education, and academic capacity building.
The partnership formalises an ongoing relationship, particularly driven by the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Leeds, which has engaged with DU over the past two years through faculty visits and collaborative academic initiatives.
A highlight of this collaboration was the joint workshop on social science research methods hosted in Delhi in April 2025. The event brought together scholars and emerging researchers from both universities and served as a crucial platform for interdisciplinary dialogue.
Under the MoU, both institutions plan to collaborate on joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programmes, academic conferences, and the sharing of resources and expertise. The agreement emphasises shared values such as inclusivity, innovation, and global engagement, with a focus on strengthening knowledge production and academic excellence through equitable partnerships.
Speaking on the new collaboration, Professor Shearer West, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Leeds, said: 鈥淥ur partnership with the University of Delhi underscores our vision to be a globally connected university. This MoU not only enhances our international presence but also supports impactful, socially relevant research and enriches the academic experiences of both our communities. We look forward to deepening this relationship further.鈥
Echoing similar sentiments, Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, said: 鈥淭his MoU represents a meaningful opportunity to expand our academic outreach and build long-term research collaborations.
