“Look at that suit. … Up top he looks like a banker,” Bilas said (h/t On3’s Daniel Hager). “Down low, he’s like a guitarist for AC/DC.”
Bilas was likely referring to AC/DC guitarist Angus Young, known for wearing shorts with a suit jacket on stage.
Johnson’s style may not be for everyone, but his game could be. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard seems ideal for the modern NBA, which values elite three-point shooters.
In 33 games with the Texas Longhorns during the 2024-25 season, Johnson tied for fourth in the SEC in three-pointers made (2.7) and finished first in points scored (19.9).
In his scouting report before the draft, Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo Sports compared him to former Boston Celtics star Ray Allen, who is third in NBA history in three-pointers made (2,973) in a career.
“Johnson hit countless clutch shots as a Texas freshman, showing confidence in difficult moments, and his teammates seemed to rally around him,” wrote O’Connor.
