Torrevieja Man Arrested for Secretly Filming Women in Gym Showers

Two women reported being filmed while showering at the gym.

Prompt reporting enabled the Civil Guard to identify and arrest the suspect, seizing two mobile devices and preventing potential distribution of the footage.

July 1, 2025 – The Civil Guard has arrested a 30-year-old man in Torrevieja for allegedly committing two crimes against privacy, after being identified as the person responsible for secretly recording illicit footage in the women’s changing room of a local sports facility.

The incident came to light on May 28, when a woman reported to the Torrevieja Main Police Station that, earlier that day, while showering in the women’s locker room of the gym she attends, she had seen a hand holding a mobile phone appear from above the shower stall.

She immediately screamed, prompting the alleged perpetrator to flee. She then informed another woman present in the changing room, and both reported the incident to the gym staff.

A few days later, a second woman came forward to report a similar incident that had occurred in the same gym.

The Civil Guard in Torrevieja launched an immediate investigation, working in coordination with the gym’s management, who provided access to technical resources critical to identifying the suspect and gathering evidence.

Thanks to the swift action of the investigators, the man was quickly identified and arrested, preventing the possible spread of the recorded footage and reducing further harm to the victims’ privacy. Two mobile phones belonging to the suspect were seized and handed over to judicial authorities for forensic analysis.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Spanish national, faces two charges related to the violation of privacy, honor, and personal image. He was brought before Torrevieja’s Court of Instruction No. 3, which has released him pending further legal proceedings.

The Civil Guard emphasizes the importance of promptly reporting incidents of this nature to allow rapid intervention, helping to secure evidence, prevent the spread of compromising material, and protect the emotional well-being and privacy of the victims.
