Every year on July 4, millions of Americans celebrate Independence Day. It’s a special tradition and a day to spend time with family and friends, enjoying the many festivities on offer, from parades and barbeques to fireworks displays. If you want to express your patriotism through jewelry trends, there are many ways you can do this in style—from red, white and blue combinations to stars and stripes and bold, statement pieces.
According to Aritzon, the U.S. jewelry market was valued at USD 78.40 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 97.62 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 3.72% during the forecast period. They also add that personalization and customization are among the most prominent trends in the US jewelry market. Consumers are increasingly seeking jewelry that reflects their personal identity, style, and emotional connection, whether for themselves or as gifts for loved ones.

I spoke over Zoom to Alyson Iarrusso, founder of Cove Fine Jewelry. She told me that her brand is designed and produced in the USA, and described it as a “small-batch, American-made business”. This season, Alyson has launched a luxury Americana Collection inspired by the festivities and the nostalgia she feels around Independence Day, which started with a set of hoop earrings and grew from there. All her gemstones are sourced from New York City’s diamond district (she uses lab-grown diamonds), where she has her workshop and casts the gold.
Alyson tells me about the importance of jewelry being connected to a ‘sense of place’, and describes her creations as being not just fine jewelry; “it’s about being connected,” she says. She stresses the importance of manufacturing her product in America, especially given the current tariffs, and highlights the significance of linking it to her personal roots, her colonial history, and her love for that cultural moment in America that takes place every year around July 4. “I don’t want fast fashion—I want something made to last,” she says. “A piece I can wear every summer and one day pass down to my daughter.”

Lynette Ong, founder of Edge of Ember, agrees over email that jewelry has always played a powerful role in capturing moments and celebrating tradition—and the 4th of July is no exception. It’s a time when people want to feel festive while staying connected to something deeper, and jewelry offers the perfect way to do just that.

Red, White and Blue
To celebrate in true American style, you can take inspiration from the colors of the national flag. Whether you select a piece that has all three or match the items yourself, it’s a great way to express your patriotism. These colors were trending on the catwalk for Spring/Summer 2025 designers, including Proenza Schouler, Loewe, Prada and Tommy Hilfiger, who combined a strong nautical influence with Bretton stripes.

Statement Pieces
Statement pieces are another significant current jewelry trend, with particularly eye-catching, oversized pieces in strong colors. On the runway for Spring/Summer 2025, statement jewelry was celebrated with strong, sculptural shapes and inventive materials that made the accessories a focal point. Moschino displayed oversized pearl pieces, Cavalli, Gucci and Etro showed chunky chains, and Valentino designed some beautiful oversized statement necklaces and earrings.

Lynette Ong tells me that statement pieces in patriotic hues like red, blue, and white provide a bold, joyful way to wear your pride. “Whether it’s a rich garnet or an opulent moonstone, bold colors are definitely having a moment,” she says—and adds that paired with clean, sculptural silhouettes, they create pieces that feel both modern and intentional. She also explains to me that ultimately, jewelry allows you to celebrate both heritage and individuality, effortlessly and in your own unique way.

You can incorporate this trend into the 4th of July festivities by selecting a color from the American flag and choosing a strong piece to match. This can then be offset against matching or contrasting clothes.
Samantha Siu, founder of Samantha Siu, described to me over email how as an American brand with roots in London, they’re proud to honor both cultures with pieces that celebrate history, beauty, and meaning. “Our collection is not only designed to make a statement but also to create a lasting impression for generations to come” she explained, and added that with a commitment to innovation and creativity, they are excited to continue expanding their reach and delivering wearable art that tells powerful stories.

The Western trend was also very present on the Spring/Summer catwalk. With Beyoncé’s recent Cowboy Carter Tour, we have seen a resurgence of cowgirl fashion codes, also spotted on model Bella Hadid, who was recently photographed wearing a pair of vintage Dolce & Gabbana cowboy boots from 2004. These had four-and-a-half-inch heels and a butterfly motif across the front. On the runway, many Western references were seen in Ralph Lauren’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Wide-brimmed hats were showcased at Willy Chavarria’s presentation, and in Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, suede handbags and layered black leather saddle belts with gold brass buckles were also featured.
Cowboy emblems are a fun option if you want to accessorize an outfit and channel this trend. You can select charms, necklaces, bracelets or rings with Western references and combine them to create a modern Americana style. These can also be layered, adding a bohemian dimension to your outfit.

Stars And Stripes
Celestial-themed jewelry is another strong trend we have seen this Spring/Summer 2025. The motif is perennial, but this season it has been interpreted in a variety of ways, ranging from delicate pieces to strong, bold ones. It is primarily seen in either silver or gold finishes, although sometimes these are combined. On the catwalk, Collina Strada presented silver star earrings, and Schiaparelli included some sculptural statement pieces that alluded to stars.
According to Lynette Ong, this season there’s a noticeable shift towards meaningful designs, with celestial motifs that feel both personal and enduring. She explains to me that stars have emerged as a standout jewelry trend for 2025—and it’s easy to see why: timeless symbols of hope, freedom, and individuality, stars are striking a perfect balance between edge and sentiment in everyday jewelry.
