Two former governors of Kashkadarya passed away on the same day
On July 4, Yazdurdi Safarov, former head of Mirishkor district in Kashkadarya region, passed away at the age of 80. On the same day, Orif Tokhtameshov, who had served as khokim of the Nishon district for six years, also passed away at the age of 62. The news was confirmed by the press services of the Mirishkor and Nishon district administrations.
Yazdurdi Taganovich Safarov, of Turkmen origin, was born in 1946 in the village of Pamuk, Mirishkor district, Kashkadarya region, into a working-class family. He led the former Bahoristan district (currently Mirishkor) between 1991 and 1995. Safarov began his career in education and dedicated much of his life to the development of the agricultural sector.
He started as a teacher at secondary school No. 14 in Karshi district, later holding a series of key roles in the agricultural sector. From 1970 to 1979, he served as chief agronomist and deputy head of the Kashkadarya regional association “Uzkhishloqkhozhaliktekhnika.” Between 1979 and 1990, he headed the regional association “Qishloqkhozhalikkimyo.” He then served as governor of the former Bahoristan (now Mirishkor) district from 1990 to 1995. Later, he held several executive positions: deputy chairman of the regional board of “Uzagrokimyoservis” (1995–1996), chairman of the Kashkadarya branch of “Agrokimyota’minot” (1996–2001), chairman of the territorial joint-stock company “Qishloqkhozhalikkimyo” (2001–2004), and deputy chairman of the same company until 2008.
Orif Khojaqulovich Tokhtameshov served as khokim of Nishon district from 2003 to 2009. He was 62 at the time of his passing.
It is also worth noting that on the same day, July 4, Damir Yodgorov, who served as governor of the Bukhara region from 1992 to 1994, died at the age of 88 after a prolonged illness.
