Whether it’s your first big purchase or the outfit you wore to your best friend’s wedding, our clothes are sentimental.
They hold secrets, memories, and when we see them in our wardrobes, we can’t help the emotions and feelings we felt while wearing them come flooding back.
It’s no secret that Suzanne Jackson loves her fashion. She’s a woman constantly pushing the boat out when it comes to style, and she frequently pulls out all the stops for lavish occasions.
And with her vast, ever-growing walk-in wardrobe of star buys and designer goodies, EVOKE was curious as to whether there was one item in her closet that holds immense sentimental value (other than her wedding dress, of course).
Speaking when Ireland Fashion Week announced its official beauty partnership with SOSU Cosmetics and Dripping Gold, Suzanne told us: ‘The first thing that comes to mind is I bought a Dolce & Gabbana dress in Brown Thomas for the IMAGE PwC Business Woman of the Year Awards [in 2023].’
‘I look at that dress [in my wardrobe], and what they did is they brought back some of the old school styles in their new fabrics, and this dress was iconic, it was in Brown Thomas, I said “I’m gonna get that for the awards”, and I won the award which was amazing,’ Suzanne recounted.
She added: ‘It was such a big business award and it was just little ‘ol me going up to collect it, so I look back at that dress and think “wow, that’s special”.’
Suzanne’s Dolce & Gabbana number was a fitted black midaxi that hugged her curves as it graduated down to a sheer slip, an outfit she told EVOKE she’d definitely wear again.
At the time of her big win, Suzanne told her followers: ‘It鈥檚 been tough in business with lots of highs and lows, but I strongly believe that if you go after something with pure determination, honourable intentions and passion, you will succeed.’
‘Of course, I am nothing without my amazing team, supportive family, friends, and husband. And you, the customer – I am forever thankful for you,’ Suzanne continued to write.
‘Congratulations to all the nominees and winners tonight – what am inspiring room full of women in business! We certainly run this world.’
Now that’s a memory!
