The Salt Path Film Producers Address Controversy Surrounding The Original Book

Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs in the recent film adaptation of The Salt PathThe producers behind the recent film The Salt Path have responded to the fresh controversy surrounding the book which inspired it.

Over the weekend, The Observer published the results of an investigation which cast doubt on the veracity of some of the claims outlined in Raynor Winn’s 2018 book, which was marketed as a memoir.

The book was more recently turned into a film starring Gillian Anderson and The White Lotus’ Jason Isaacs as its central couple, who walk the 600-mile length of the South West Coast Path, in South West England, after being made homeless.

However, The Observer’s investigation alleged that the events that led to the real-life couple being made homeless played out differently in real life to how it was depicted in the book, among a variety of other claims.
