Puzzle-platformer Figment is the Epic Games Store’s freebie of the week
Dive into the human mind, leap, platform and slash your way to victory
Figment makes a return to mobile years after previously releasing
One of the best aspects of Epic Games’ move to bring their storefront to mobile has been none other than the debut of their free games programme. And while it didn’t quite sway the audience on PC, on mobile, they’ve already released some truly great games for free, including this week’s entry, Figment.
Figment is a surreal platform puzzler that sees you take an Alice in Wonderland-esque journey into the human mind. You’ll take on both out-of-the-box puzzles, as well as diving into all manner of hack ‘n slash combat as you fight off the nightmares plaguing the mind.
Figment’s release is more than just another freebie, however. Longtime readers will remember that we covered it before when it released on iOS and Android, but it has since become unavailable on both. Figment’s rerelease on the EGS is the first time it’s been available on mobile for a long while!
In a world of pure imagination
At the same time, it’s interesting that Figment is what we’re seeing a return of. Might this be another angle that the Epic Games Store is approaching mobile from, resurrecting releases that might have fallen off more traditional storefronts? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, if you find yourself enjoying Figment and haven’t dipped your toes into the platformer genre before, why not try out some of the key entries that we’ve hand-picked? Check out our list of the top 25 best platformers on iOS and Android for more options you can play right now!
