As the old song goes, most of the football greats have passed through Parkhead’s gates.
Maybe so – but a few truly forgettable names have walked through the famous corridors, too.
Over the last 25 years or so, Celtic’s transfer policy has evolved dramatically. No longer a destination for has-beens, the Hoops have mastered the art of unearthing hidden gems and flipping them for major profit.
Virgil van Dijk, Jeremie Frimpong and Matt O’Riley are prime examples of a player trading model that’s the envy of clubs not just in Scotland – but across Europe.
Yet for every Moussa Dembele or Daizen Maeda, there’s been a Derk Boerrigter or Mo Bangura.
Du Wei and Marvin Compper are etched into Celtic folklore for all the wrong reasons, but what about some of the other forgotten Bhoys who failed to make the grade?
