Nicknames have been a part of sports since the beginning of time. The Green Bay Packers have so many famous nicknames in their history. The Packers All Pro return specialist and cornerback made a big impact last season when he stepped up and played boundary corner when Jaire Alexander was hurt. Keisean Nixon enters the 2025 season as the team鈥檚 top cover corner. He may also continue to return kicks, something he does very well. When Nixon gets the ball, he can make an impact play at any time.
Nixon was given the nickname K-9 for his attitude and the way he approaches the game.
Number 9: OL Elgton Jenkins
Elgton Jenkins provides the Packers with versatility on the offensive line. He can play any of the five positions and has played multiple positions at a high level since joining the Pack in 2019. In fact, he has started at tackle and guard in previous seasons. This year, the team has asked him to move to center.
Standing at 6鈥5鈥 and weighing 311 pounds, Jenkins has earned the nickname 鈥淏ig E.鈥

Defensive end Kingsley Enagbare recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks last season. He assumed the starting defensive end spot after the Packers traded away Preston Smith at midseason.
He was given the nickname 鈥淛J鈥 as a kid because he was a fan of the kids show 鈥淛J the Jet Plane鈥 and had a lot of energy.
Number 7: LB Edgerrin Cooper
Second year linebacker Edgerrin Cooper made the NFL All-Rookie team last season. Cooper proved he has a nose for the football and the ability to make impact plays. He did that despite not being fully familiar with his assignments on defense, especially early in the season.
The Texas A&M alum made 3.5 sacks, recovered two fumbles and intercepted a pass in 14 games as a rookie despite only playing 55 percent of the team鈥檚 defensive snaps.

DE Rashan Gary led the Packers in sacks last season with 7.5. He also drastically improved his play against the run in the first year of the team鈥檚 new 4-3 defense installed by Jeff Hafley.
The former Michigan star has the nickname 鈥淏ane Gary,鈥 according to the Packers media guide. Gary earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career in 2024. He hopes to top his career-high of 9.5 sacks in a season in 2025.

Jayden Reed led the Packers in catches in each of his first two seasons with the team. Last season, the Michigan State alum caught 55 passes for 857 yards and six touchdowns. He did that despite playing in the slot and only seeing the field on 63 percent of the team鈥檚 offensive snaps in 2024.
Reed hopes to have a breakout season in 2025 which is possible if he can be more consistent and cut down on his drops.

The Packers signed Xavier McKinney as a free agent before the 2024 NFL campaign, and he responded with a career year. The former Alabama star intercepted eight passes on the season including one in each of his first five games with the team.
By the second half of the season, opposing quarterbacks avoided throwing deep down the middle of the field out of respect for McKinney鈥檚 ball-hawking skills.
McKinney鈥檚 nickname comes as no surprise. He is known as 鈥淴鈥.
Packers Nickname 3: WR Romeo Doubs
Romeo Doubs has been a mainstay of the Green Bay offense for the last three seasons. The former Nevada star caught 46 passes last season for 601 yards and four touchdowns despite missing four games.
Doubs excels at short and intermediate routes and has developed good chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love.

Number 1: DE Lukas Van Ness
Lukas Van Ness earned the nickname, 鈥淗ercules鈥 for his physique, size and athletic ability. The former first-round pick out of Iowa recorded three sacks last season after managing four in his rookie campaign.
The Packers hope Van Ness can take his game to the next level in 2025 and earn a starting job for the first time. Now that his broken thumb is fully healed, they also hope he can start living up to his nickname.
