Strictly Come Dancing's Bill Bailey floors fans as 'he looks 10 years younger'

Bill Bailey has certainly caused a stir on BBC Breakfast with his unexpected hair transformation.

The 60-year-old multitalented star made heads turn while sitting on the iconic red sofa this Thursday (June 26) to dish out details on his forthcoming tour to presenters Naga Munchetty and Ben Thompson.

Yet, the chat soon pivoted towards Bill’s new cropped ‘do, which stands in stark contrast to his characteristic flowing tresses.

Ever so curious, presenter Naga queried: “Are you ever going to grow your hair again?”. The entertainer’s response was a breezy: “I quite like the short hair.”

Naga was quick to compliment, remarking: “It looks lovely”, with Bill chiming in: “Especially now in the hot weather. It’s great.”, reports Edinburgh Live.

Not just the studio noticed – fans tuning in from their living rooms took to social media, once X but now known as Twitter, to comment on Bill’s fresh look. One admirer tweeted: “#bbcbreakfast He looks ten years younger.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one supporter tweeting: “He looks be tter with that straggly hair cut off #bbcbreakfast.”

while another observed: “Bill has cut his hair off #bbcbreakfast.”

In a past episode of The Graham Norton Show, Bailey recounted the fiery mishap that led to snipping his mane, divulging: “I was on a hiking holiday in the summer and at one point I was leaning over a barbecue and my hair caught on fire. I think the universe was telling me it was time.”

Telly favourite Bill Bailey shared a hilarious encounter, revealing: “The other day someone came up to me and said ‘You look just like Bill Bailey, but younger’. It’s great.”

Bill triumphed on Strictly Come Dancing alongside Oti Mabuse in 2020.

This win was one for the books as Bill set a record as the oldest celeb to clinch the title, while Oti made history by becoming the first pro dancer to secure back-to-back victories, having previously lifted the glitterball trophy in 2019 with ex-Emmerdale hunk Kelvin Fletcher.
