Skolars stretch unbeaten run, Bulls bounce back  …in RLFG Men’s 13s championship

Skolars Rugby League Club extended their unbeaten run in the ongoing Rugby League Federation Ghana’s Men’s 13s Championship with a 42–14 win over Dragons RLC in their week five game played at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium over the weekend.

Skolars set the tone early with three tries from Elvis Aryetey and additional efforts from Michael Egyiri and Chris Da-Gama in the opening exchanges before Aboudy Moussa converted three of the five first-half tries to build a domi-nant 28–6 lead after a try from Kofi Adusei that was beautifully converted by Innocent Alartey for Dragons to end the half.

The second half saw Dragons increase their goal tally to 14, scor-ing tries from Innocent Alartey and Haywood John, but both conver-sions were missed.

Skolars remained relentless, with Emmanuel Acheampong, Da-Gama, and Aboudy Moussa scoring tries and conversions to seal a convincing win.

In the days other game, Bulls RLC strolled to a 38–14 vic-tory over Nungua Tigers in a high-on-energy contest.

It was Tigers who struck first, with Gideon Klugey and Kofi Montchon each registering early tries to give their side the lead.

Bulls responded through Leslie Boadu and Richard Asare, with Asare’s successful conversion edg-ing Bulls ahead 10–8 at half time.

Back from recess, Bulls took control with Boadu adding another try before Desmond Geotrah crossed twice in rapid succession to increase the tally.

Although Montchon and Godfred Aikins scored tries, Bulls powered on as Kevin Boadu and Kwabena Kyei Boafo add-ed further tries late in the game, with successful conversions from Kwabena Kyei Boafo and Richard Asare rounding off a commanding victory.

The victory helped Bulls climb to second with seven points, five off leaders Skolars; Dragons sit third with four points, while Nungua Tigers and Accra Panthers follow with three points each, while UG Titans sit bottom with no point.

Week six will have Bulls taking on whipping boys, UG Titans, while Nungua Tigers face Accra Panthers.
