THIS WEEK, THE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) and the Institute of Public Health (IPH) co-hosted an event to discuss sunbed use in Ireland and the lessons learnt from Australia’s ban.

Reducing the risk of skin cancer is a government priority, according to Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, Minister of State with special responsibility for Public Health.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has backed a potential sunbed ban, calling it a “no-brainer†and adding that he would advocate for legislation as a preventative measure.

So, today we want to know: Should sunbed use be banned?
