SheCan urges women to leverage collaboration, mentorship for personal development

SheCan, a gender-based organisation has urged women to leverage on collaboration and mentorship for personal development and career progression, both at the workplace and on the home front.

Ezinne Ezeani, founder, SheCan Nigeria, said, it is a movement dedicated to empowering women to recognize their potential and develop their skills to achieve success. According to her, SheCan believes in the power of women, and their ability to do more.

鈥淲e鈥檙e first human before we became women. So it鈥檚 important that as a woman that you don鈥檛 seek professional preference just because you鈥檙e a woman, but because you can do it, because you have a voice, and because you have the innate ability to do more,鈥 she said during the press briefing ahead of the 6th edition of the SheCan Nigeria conference.

According to her, the initiative sits on three critical pillars, educate, empower, and transform. She disclosed that annually the organisation conducts several programs, from training, business round tables, career round tables to help women develop.

鈥淚 always say that SheCan is a gender-based organisation. We preach that every woman can do more; you can be more, irrespective of your background. And then we have our empowerment programs, which span from our vocational training, to business clinics, business support, to enterprise.鈥

Oyinye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, the theme of this year鈥檚 conference, 鈥楾he Woman and Her Power,鈥 resonates MTN鈥檚 corporate believe that when women are empowered to recognize and harness their power, they become unstoppable forces for innovation, leadership, and transformation.

She stated that collaborating with SheCan Nigeria on tits sixth edition is a perfect match for its mission to inspire and empower women. According to her, both organisations will provide a platform where women can connect, learn, and take bold steps toward their dreams.

鈥淲e are also pleased to announce that 41.4 percent of our leadership team is female鈥攐ver twice the industry standard. This is not by chance, but the result of intentional policies, inclusive practices, and a culture that values the unique strengths women bring to the table,鈥 Ikenna-Emeka said.
