SEC halves filing request rates

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will reduce corporate document request fees by half, starting in July, to support greater access to corporate data through fair and sustainable pricing, while easing costs for businesses and the public.The regulator said Thursday that under newly issued Memorandum Circular No. 6, Series of 2025, physical and authenticated copies of key company filings, including articles of incorporation, by-laws, general information sheets, and board resolutions, will cost P1,000 each, down from P2,000. Authenticated copies of other documents, on the other hand, will be priced at P50 per page, from P100 previously.Plain physical copies of the same documents will now cost P750 each, instead of P1,500, while plain copies of other documents will be P25 per page, down from P50.Digital copies accessible via the Electronic SEC Education, Analysis, and Research Computing Hub are also seeing price reductions. Authenticated digital copies will now cost P625 each, from P1,250, while plain copies will be P375, down from P750.Rates for using the SEC API Marketplace, which enables automated data exchange, will remain unchanged at P10,000 for 100 API calls and P50,000 for 1,000 calls.To recall, newly appointed SEC Chairperson and CEO Francis Edralin Lim pledged to pursue reforms that will reduce the regulatory cost burden on smaller firms and encourage broader participation in the market.鈥淲e will explore reasonable reductions in our fees, particularly for MSMEs. Regulation must support, not suffocate,鈥 he said earlier.
