School Leader Elections held

Mysore/Mysuru: The School Leader Elections for the academic year 2025-26 was held at BSS Vidyodaya in Krishnamurthypuram, with the objective of introducing students to the democratic process and instilling in them the values of democracy, leadership and responsible citizenship.

The elections were conducted for the four school houses — Abhimanyu, Dhruva, Prahalada, and Nachiketha. The nomination process was open from June 19 to 23 and witnessed enthusiastic participation, with around 40 students nominating themselves.

Scrutiny and interview round were held on June 18, chaired by Principal Navya Jagadeesh, Physical Education Teacher Chandrashekhar, Unit Head Sheshakamala, along with faculty. Based on leadership qualities, confidence, and communication skills, 16 candidates were shortlisted.

A week-long campaign period followed, during which the candidates interacted with fellow students, shared their visions, and promoted their house ideals.

The election was conducted on June 27 in a democratic manner. Students from Grade 3 onwards were given the opportunity to cast their votes. Ballot boxes were used and students’ fingers were inked after voting.
