IBADAN – Rotary E-Club of one Nigeria has donated medical equipment to Ado quarters primary health center recently in Ibadan.
The items donated include industrial waste bins, mosquito nets, test kits, drugs among others.
The event also witnessed the sensitization on malaria prevention, free medical check up, landscaping and planting of flower at the heath center.
Speaking, the club’s president, Ganiyat Tijani explained that the initiative is one of the area of focus of Rotary club.
Adding that the intervention will go a long way in helping the health center and residents of the community.
She said, “We are here today to donate mosquito nets, drugs, medical kits and aswell sensitise the residents of Ado Quarters community on malaria prevention, this is one of the area of focus of Rotary club.
“This intervention will go a long way in helping the residents of the community access proper health care in the PHC.
Also the District governor nominee, District 9126, Olaniyi Okin stated that the initiative is meant to support the government through the provision of social amenities for residents of such communities.
He however urged the hospital to make good use of the items donated so as to encourage them to do more in the future.
Speaking, The Matron of the PHC, Helen Aladetuyi appreciate the club for the gesture adding that the donated items will help address some of the challenges faced in the health centers.
She added that the health center which was commissioned about two years ago has since been sponsored alone by the residents of the community.
