Road Warriors of Brazil was crowned the ‘June Madness’ Futsal Champion, defeating national champion Sparta Boss 4-2 on Saturday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue. The contest, which was witnessed by a crowd that exceeded the capacity of the facility, was decided by two goals on either side of the halftime interval by the visitors.
Thaylyson Dos Santos handed the Brazilians the advantage in the fourth minute with a left-footed strike into the left corner after receiving a right-sided pass.
The aforesaid conversion stunned the partisan crowd but surprisingly was cheered by a large segment of the gathering.
The lead was extended in the 10th minute in the form of Luis Silva, the event’s eventual highest goal-scorer with 10 conversions, rifling a powerful shot into the roof of the right corner from outside the centre of the penalty area, following a pass from free-kick.
