Till now, most of the cast members have remained silent about their roles in the film. However, Yash, who also donned the hat of the producer for the film, previously spoke to The Hollywood Reporter India about playing Ravan, the antagonist of the epic. He said, 鈥淚t鈥檚 a very fascinating character. I wouldn鈥檛 have done it for any other reason. In Ramayana, if you had asked me 鈥榃ould you play any other character?鈥 Probably not. For me, Ravan is the most exciting character to play as an actor so I really like the shades and the nuances of the particular character. There鈥檚 a vast scope to present it in a very different way. As an actor, I am very excited. Hopefully, it鈥檚 going to be a very unique approach to it.鈥
Budget And Release Date Of Ramayana
Earlier, Bollywood Hungama reported that the film is being made on a budget of Rs 835 crore, the most expensive Indian film to date. Before the mythological epic, Adipurush held the record for being the most expensive film. The total expenditure of the film was around Rs 500 crore. The film did not fare well at the box office and was severely criticised for its VFX. It starred Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
Ramayana will be a two-part film. While the first part is slated to release in theatres on Diwali 2026, the second part will make it to theatres in Diwali 2027.
