Princess Diana was born on July 1. Had she been alive today, it would have been her 64th birthday. The “People’s Princess” used to get a lot of birthday wishes from her admirers all over the world. What was amazing was how she used to read each and every message. Before she got divorces, she used to celebrate birthdays by spending time with her family, attending some charity events and spending some quiet moments all by herself. However, post divorce, she kept her birthdays a low-key affair. On her 67th birth anniversary, Prince William has some special plans to mark the occasion. He intends to honour his late mother Princess Diana鈥檚 philanthropic legacy by setting out a major progressive milestone for his non-profit organization, the Homewards Initiative on July 1. On Princess Diana’s birth anniversary, there are some lesser-known facts which one must read about. They are listed below. Princess Diana was a college dropout Till the age of 9, Diana was homeschooled. After that she was sent to boarding school to complete the rest of her education. However, she failed her O-level test twice over and eventually dropped out of school when she was just 16. From working as a nanny to being employed as a school teacher, she did it all. Imagine this: At one point, she was paid only $5 an hour to play with children, do laundry, and clean. She was taller than Prince Charles Diana was around 5鈥10鈥, which made her slightly taller than Charles. This is why if you notice in some of the pictures and videos, she would often slightly lower her head in photos to appear shorter. She only met Prince Charles 13 times before they got married Before the two got engaged in 1981, Charles and Diana had only met about a dozen times. At the time, Diana was just 19 and Charles was 32; the two had a age difference of 13 years. She always sent across “thank you” cards One thing Princess Diana was known for was sending across “thank you” notes. She wrote them for her staff, fans and charities.
