Legendary singer and actress Connie Francis, the singer behind the iconic song Pretty Little Baby, was hospitalised in Florida on Wednesday, July 2. Reports emerged suggesting that the 87-year-old is currently in the ICU, where she is receiving the required care. Francis was taken to the hospital after suffering from extreme pain, as shared in a post on the singer鈥檚 official Facebook handle.
It read, 鈥淗ello Everyone 鈥 As many of you may now have learned through Cousin Brucie鈥檚 Facebook page, I am back in the hospital where I have been undergoing tests and checks to determine the cause(s) of the extreme pain I have been experiencing.鈥

Further in the post, Connie Francis also revealed that she had to cancel her scheduled Brucie鈥檚 show for Independence Day due to her health struggles. She added, 鈥淚 had hoped to take part in Brucie鈥檚 show for Independence Day, having had to cancel a previous slot a few weeks ago when receiving treatment on my hip. Sadly, I had to let him know that I again had to withdraw.鈥
After undergoing a series of tests and examinations, Connie Francis shared another post on her Facebook page, keeping fans updated about her health woes. In her post, the singer also revealed that she had been transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit to a private room.
She wrote, 鈥淚 am pleased to advise that following a series of tests and examinations in Intensive Care, I have now been transferred to a private room.鈥

Francis has been battling significant health challenges, including a hip injury, since 2018, when she retired. Before this, she lost her voice for seven years after nasal surgery in the 1970s and also suffered misdiagnosed mental illness later.
In a tragic series of events, she was raped at knifepoint in 1974, an ordeal that left her grappling with PTSD and depression. In the years that followed, the trauma was compounded by the murder of her brother by a group of armed assailants.
