Bihar Assembly Election: Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor took a sharp dig at the Congress party for its diminishing relevance in Bihar politics. Kishor, while speaking to ANI, said that Congress survives solely on the goodwill of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and dared Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to go solo. Assembly elections are due in Bihar later this year, however, no official dates have been announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI). When asked to estimate how many votes Congress might secure in the state, Kishor quipped, 鈥淛itna Lalu ji bheek mein denge (As many as Lalu gives in charity).鈥 Prashant Kishor, while speaking at ANI podcast, said that Congress has been 鈥渞iding Lalu Yadav鈥檚 coattails for the last 25-30 years.鈥 Congress and Lalu Yadav’s RJD are part of the opposition INDIA bloc, popularly known as grand alliance in Bihar. “Congress has no stand in Bihar. If Rahul Gandhi has political guts, he should contest the elections in Bihar on his own. Or he should ask for an equal number of seats from Lalu Yadav,” Prashant Kishor said. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party is all set to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, which are expected later this year. In this election, Prashant Kishor will be challenging both JD(U)-led NDA coalition in power and the RJD-led INDIA Bloc. Kishor has been pitching Jan Suraaj as an alternative to these alliances. Launching a scathing attack on the political parties in Bihar, Kishor, at his ‘Bihar Badlav Rally’, accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav of failing to bring meaningful change to the state over decades. “For 40-45 years you voted for Congress, then you voted for Lalu Yadav for 15 years. For the last 20 years, Nitish Kumar has been the CM… But the life of the people of Vaishali has not been changed…If you vote as I will tell you, then proper arrangements for your children’s education and employment will be made here in Vaishali itself…” Kishor said.
