Popular city centre caf茅 Boston Tea Party has been shut down due to mice. The business on Corporation Street has been issued with a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice by Birmingham City Council . READ MORE: Face of dad jailed over three-minute TikTok rant despite grovelling apology The council notice stated the business posed an ‘imminent risk of injury to health’ due to ‘mice activity’, ‘lack of effective cleaning’ and ‘food at risk of contamination’. The business displayed its own signs, with one partially overlapping the notice and another fixed to a sandwich board blocking off the front door. They said: “We’re closed for maintenance works. Apologies for the inconvenience – BTP Management.” The council has also issued a statement to Birmingham Live which said: “Boston Tea Party was served formal notice to close due to the presence of mouse activity, with the decision set to be presented to Magistrates on Monday 30th June 2025. “Environmental health officers visit the premises regularly and plans to reinspect prior to a hearing at the magistrate鈥檚 court.” BTP has a number of caf茅s in the city. The outlet on Corportation Street is situated between Birmingham Crown Court and Birmingham Magistrates’ Court and is a popular spot among legal workers. It currently has a Food Standards Agency rating of 4 out of 5 (Good) following its last inspection on November 11 last year. We have reached out to Boston Tea Party for further comment.
