Former EU commissioner Mairead McGuinness is leading the race as the favourite to be Ireland鈥檚 next president, the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll reveals today.
Former taoiseach Bertie Ahern and former education minister Mary Hanafin are tied on 17pc among potential Fianna Fail candidates, while another former FF minister, Peter Power, has attracted just 3pc support; 56pc of respondents said they would vote for none of those three.
