Two people have been taken to hospital following reports of a “stabbing” in Rhyl. Two air ambulances, multiple police cars and ambulance crews were called to the scene on Meredith Crescent today.
Locals said two people had been “stabbed” during the incident. North Wales Police confirmed two “females” were taken to hospital, following a “wounding incident”.
One of the air ambulances flew a casualty to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, with the other casualty being taken to hospital by land ambulance. A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A North Wales Police Denbighshire Coastal statement said: “Shortly after 9.30am today (Thursday, 3 July), officers responded to reports of a wounding incident at an address on Meredith Crescent, Rhyl.
“Upon attending the property, officers located two females who had sustained injuries. Both were assessed at the scene by attending paramedics.
“One individual was transported to hospital by air ambulance, while the other was conveyed by land ambulance for further medical treatment.
“A 37-year-old man was detained at the scene and arrested in connection with this incident. There is no ongoing threat to the wider public.
“Scene preservation remains in place at the location whilst forensic officers conduct enquiries.”
