Orlando Bloom Opens Up About ‘Loneliness’ After Katy Perry Split

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called it quits after years of being together. Ever since the breakup, the Lord of the Rings actor has continued to share cryptic posts on his Instagram Stories, offering insight into how he has been feeling. In a new update, Orlando posted yet another such inspirational quote on his social media.
He reshared a post which featured some reflections of the Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Carl Gustav Jung. One of which read: “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate what seem important to oneself.” Another quote said, “We are not what happened to us, we are what we choose to become.”
Previously, the 48-year-old actor had taken to his account to share a quote on “new beginnings.” The post, originally shared by @taomeditations, quoted Gautam Buddha’s teachings, which said, “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.”
While Orlando has continued to express his feelings through such inspirational and thoughtful quotes, Katy, on the other hand, has maintained her silence on the split. However, she has leaned on her fans for emotional support. Recently, during her final performance on the Australian leg of her ongoing Lifetimes Tour, the 40-year-old singer could not hold back her tears.
In fan-made videos from the show, Katy appeared to be fighting back tears while on stage during the last show in Adelaide, Australia. At one point, with tears in her eyes, she raised her arms above her head and made a heart with her hands. Before singing the last song of her setlist, Firework, she expressed her gratitude to her fans, saying, “Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world. Now let’s sing ‘Firework!’”
FYI, Katy and Orlando decided to go their separate ways after nine years of relationship. They first crossed paths in 2016 and made their relationship Instagram official in May of the same year. In 2017, they had split briefly only to rekindle their love in 2018. The pair got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove in 2020. And after six years of engagement, their separation was confirmed right before Orlando attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy, alone. On Thursday, July 3, reps of the former couple shared a joint statement, saying, “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
