Oasis fans left 'deliriously happy' as band lays on surprise with 'massive upgrade' for first reunion show

Oasis have reportedly surprised fans who’ve been camped outside the Principality Stadium in Cardiff ahead of the first show of their reunion tour with a gift worth thousands.

Nick Dixon, correspondent for ITV show Lorraine, revealed that some ticket holders had been waiting outside the stadium since Thursday in the hopes of getting to the front of the stage – and Oasis’ Noel and Liam Gallagher had noticed.

“Some of the more passionate fans with tickets have been queuing up at different sections of the stadium since yesterday because they want to get in there as soon as the doors open at 5pm and rush to the stage,” he told the ITV show, reports The Mirror.

“It turns out that the band and the band’s management had noticed the fact that they were there because all of a sudden, on the other side of the stadium, security rounded up the fans and moved them.”

Nick added that he originally feared that the fans had been kicked out by security. “We were at first wondering, ‘I hope they’re not being turfed out, they’ve got tickets,’ but actually security told me that the band spotted them and they’ve been moved to a different area – a VIP area.

“They’ve had a massive upgrade on their tickets which is fantastic for them. They’ve left here deliriously happy.”

VIP tickets for Oasis’ upcoming tour can vary between around £250 to £3,250 (€290 – €3,750) depending on the venue. The Mirror has reached out to Oasis for comment.

It comes just days after the band reportedly refused to give out free tour tickets to their team working behind the scenes.

A source told the Mail: “The crew will be travelling around the country with the band, setting up the venues, and will be on hand throughout the concerts in case they are needed. They’ll be away from their family and are usually given tickets to invite them down to join them at one of the shows.

“But the Gallagher brothers have banned any free tickets being given out. The crew are all fuming. Many of them have toured with other big-name artists and have never known anything like it. All Oasis seem to care about is making as much money as they can. Is this about fans, or is the truth that it’s all about the money?”

The famous brothers are reuniting today on stage for the first time in 16 years, kicking off their nationwide tour in Cardiff on Friday evening.

Ahead of the big gig, some fans have heard the pair rehearsing their setlist – with one on Reddit revealing that they’ll be playing 24 songs.

They claimed the setlist kicks off with an intro of F****n’ in the Bushes then Hello, Acquiesce, Morning Glory and Some Might Say. Cigarettes and Alcohol is next as Fade Away, Supersonic, Roll With It, Bring It On Down follow. It is believed Noel will take on Talk Tonight, Half the World Away and Little By Little.

Speculation suggests the set will then turn to D’you Know What I Mean?, Stand By Me, Cast No Shadow, Slide Away, Whatever, Live Forever and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star.

Noel will reportedly lead on The Masterplan and Don’t Look Back in Anger, before the show comes to a sensational end with Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.

How to get Oasis tickets

Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot.

Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly.

Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.

Meanwhile, Seat Unique has some VIP tickets available offering a host of additional perks alongside access to the gig.
