Nothing Phone 3 release date and pre-order details as new model 'outperforms' previous phone

With many tech companies set to unveil their latest smartphones to the market in the coming weeks, including Samsung’s latest flip phone , UK tech firm Nothing beat other Android firms to the punch by launching their latest flagship phone last evening at 6pm UK time. Two years on since the release of the firm’s previous flagship phone, the Nothing Phone 2, fans have been waiting in anticipation for the release of the latest edition. Said to ‘outperform’ older models, shoppers will be able to pre-order the latest smartphone from the Nothing website on Friday, July 4. For those happy to wait for general sale however, Nothing’s ‘true’ flagship phone will be available on Tuesday, July 15. Shoppers will get to choose between black and white editions of the device, as well as storage. However, this is yet to be confirmed, reports Radio Times. Speaking about the new flagship phone, CEO Carl Pei said: “We really have to outperform our previous flagship, so compared to Phone (2) it鈥檚 going to be 36 per cent faster on CPU, 88 per cent stronger on GPU, and 60 per cent stronger on the NPU. But what it means in practice, it will feel a lot snappier.” For those intrigued by the Nothing Phone 3, it does come with a hefty price tag. In either white or black, shoppers can either buy the phone with 12Gb and 256GB of storage for 拢799 or for 拢899 for the 16GB and 512GB of storage edition. This price hike from the older models is due to the Phone 3 literally being nothing like what shoppers have seen before. One of the main changes is to do with the removal of the Glyph interface, which are the light-up panels on the rear of the older smartphone models. Fans were pre-warned of this switch up, as back in May Nothing’s X account posted: “We killed the Glyph interface.” Instead, the new Phone 3 will feature a Glyph Matrix in the top right corner of the smartphone’s rear. This will act as an interactive option for users to get quick updates from their phone without having to look at the main display. This is done through the interface lighting up depending on the different notifications it receives. The new phone also boasts a 50MP telephoto camera, as well as a 50MP main camera, allowing users to take stunning photos whenever they want. The phone has also moved away from its original camera bump design and now features a triple-rear camera. However, shoppers will notice these cameras are all out of alignment to continue the unique and bold design of the smartphone. As highlighted by Nothing’s CEO, the Phone 3 has been designed with higher specs than its predecessors. With a 36 per cent faster CPU, the android phone also has a 88 per cent stronger GPU and a 60 per cent stronger NPU in comparison to the Phone 2. In terms of display, the Phone 3 boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display, providing users with clean and sharp visuals for when they are watching their favourite shows and films . Fans of the Nothing smartphones will also see an upgrade to the battery life. The new phone is equipped with a 5,150mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is said to provide an all-day battery. Shoppers also gain a host of brand new AI features to play with, one of which is the essential search. This feature is a universal smart search bar that allows users to search across files, contacts and photos. Other features include flip to record, a tool that swiftly transcribes and summarises meetings, and essential space, which is where AI organises all your ideas, notes and content into one central space. In addition to releasing the Phone 3, Nothing also launched their first ever over-ear headphone the Nothing Headphone 1 , priced at 拢299. While the London-based tech company has a variety of earbuds on the market, this is their first venture into creating over-ear devices. To pre-order the Nothing Phone 3, click HERE.
