Noel Edmonds' swipe at Jeremy Clarkson as he calls out rival over 'challenge'

Noel Edmonds has returned to the UK limelight with a brand-new TV show, setting his sights on a friendly rivalry with Jeremy Clarkson. The ITV series, Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure, charts the journey of the ex-Deal Or No Deal presenter and his wife Liz as they embark on creating a hospitality venture in Ngatimoti, New Zealand. This includes establishing a vineyard, coffee cart, general store, and a pub-restaurant. Prior to the show’s debut, Noel, aged 76, clarified to The Sun that his programme is distinct from Jeremy Clarkson’s Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime Video, which follows Jeremy’s agricultural exploits in Chipping Norton. Noel remarked: “When we were filming our show, some people who knew about Clarkson’s Farm said to me, ‘Oh, is it like Clarkson’s Farm?’ And I said, ‘No, it couldn’t be more different.,” reports Bristol Live . Despite the differences, he praised Jeremy as “brilliant”. In the second episode of Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure, set to air on ITV1 on Friday, June 27, Noel brings up Jeremy once more, this time issuing a challenge. While giving a tour of his wellness centre, Noel highlighted state-of-the-art facilities including a large TV screen equipped with a Zoom camera for participating in pub quizzes. He humorously suggested that his pub, The Bugger Inn, could compete against Jeremy’s Diddly Squat team in a quiz, despite the geographical distance. “Over there is a fully Zoom-capable screen,” he said. “We may come here for our pub quiz. “I quite fancy The Bugger Inn taking on Diddly Squat. We’d wipe em’ out.” He added: “Come on Jeremy, take the challenge.” In the second episode of the series, which is already available on ITVX, Noel discussed his financial struggles, confessing that he is “haemorrhaging money” on his £15m New Zealand estate due to a lack of guests at his luxurious River Haven estate caused by continuous rain. He said: “When you come to New Zealand, you change your view about your relationship between the weather and the economy.” He continued: “We’re haemorrhaging money at the moment because you have to take staff on in anticipation of the guests coming. We’re going to have to have a spectacular November and December to balance the books.” Reflecting further, he added: “New Zealand is a great place to come to but it’s not the easiest place to set up a business.” Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure is on ITV1 Fridays at 9pm and on ITVX
