New Zealand’s business confidence jumped in June as the global tariff turmoil faded, an ANZ Bank survey showed on Monday.
A net 46.3% of respondents expect the economy to improve over the year ahead, versus a 36.6% optimism level in May, while 40.9% expect their own businesses to grow, versus 34.8%.
“Forward-looking activity indicators generally lifted in June as tariff noise subsided,” said ANZ Chief Economist Sharon Zollner in a statement.
“However, in terms of what firms are experiencing, things remain pretty soft.”
