Port Authority Bus Terminal has been closed for the morning commute into New York City due to a crash at the entrance ramp, authorities said
At least a dozen people sustained injuries after at least two buses collided near Port Authority Bus Terminal Wednesday, bringing Manhattan traffic to snail’s speed at the height of the morning rush. According to NJ Transit, which uses the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the facility was shut down before 8 a.m, reports NBC New York. The circumstances of what led up to the crash were unclear at the time.Port Authority Bus Terminal has been closed for the morning commute into New York City due to a crash at the entrance ramp, authorities said. The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on the inbound ramp at West 40th Street and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan. All the fourteen people are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. In a post on X, NJ Transit said: “New York Port Authority is closed due a multi bus accident. NJ TRANSIT bus service traveling to and from the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal is being diverted to Secaucus Junction, Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal.” The FDNY is expected to hold a briefing and share more details from the scene.(You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel)
