New Sandwell fitness studio Instagram-ready for influencers

The new BurnLab studio at Wednesbury Leisure Centre on High Bullen – one of eight centres run by Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) on behalf of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council 鈥 is a dedicated, high-energy functional fitness space, perfect for anyone looking to enhance their training, from general fitness enthusiasts to those preparing for more dynamic events such as *HYROX.

A first for the area, it features specialist camera-friendly equipment and lighting, as well as providing light stands and portable lights to allow Instagrammers to film their reels. This is ideal for reviewing form and technique improvement, plus tracking personal progress or sharing fitness journeys, and is particularly valuable for today鈥檚 digitally engaged audience.

Indeed, top fitness and wellness influencers Aaliyah Unia, TrainWithBec and Rudy O鈥橦alloran have already checked out the BurnLab vibe and shared their experiences favourably via Instagram and TikTok.

The new studio also hosts a variety of exclusive women-only classes, creating a safe, welcoming, supportive and empowering environment for ladies in the community to exercise with confidence.

BurnLab marks a further 拢100,000 investment to bring high-quality and inclusive facilities to Sandwell and follows a series of strategic improvements across SLT facilities, including gym refurbishments at Tipton Leisure Centre, a 拢500,000 revamp at Portway Lifestyle Centre in Oldbury, plus the 拢155,000 installation of three new padel courts at Tipton Sports Academy.

SLT鈥檚 Chief Executive, Mark Braithwaite, explains: 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to continue investing in leading spaces that prioritise health, physical activity plus wellbeing, and elevate the experience for members old and new. This innovative studio at Wednesbury is much more than state-of-the-art equipment 鈥 it鈥檚 about creating energy, inclusivity and innovation for our wider demographic and our whole community.鈥

BurnLab lives in the former Indoor Cycling space at the Wednesbury facility, which has been totally revamped. The hugely popular spin classes continue to run in a newly designated studio within the centre, with all the favourite instructors and timetables maintained.

鈥淎fter a few weeks, the space has been very well received,鈥 adds Braithwaite. 鈥淧reviously it was being used for between eight and 13 hours a week and was basically vacant for the rest of the time. Now we have a variety of classes throughout the week, which are being fully maxed out and people are using it independently too.鈥
