New library opens its doors after relocation to historic Ayrshire building

Troon Library has opened in a new location, boasting facilities 鈥榓ccessible to all.鈥 Ayrshire Live previously told in April last year how the library was to relocate to the town鈥檚 Municipal Buildings, while the old library would be converted into a nursery. And, following a period of works to reconfigure the new space, the official opening event for the new Troon Library was held and attended by councillors, staff and stakeholders. The library continues to offer a vibrant programme of events, including author talks, reading groups, craft sessions, and engaging activities for children and families -making it a welcoming hub for learning, creativity, and connection. The new Troon Library, located on the ground floor of Troon Municipal buildings, now offers a fantastic range of services to customers, including access to a wide variety of digital and printed books, free public access PCs and free public Wi-Fi. South Ayrshire Council鈥檚 Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, Councillor Alec Clark, said: 鈥淭he library is a valuable service to many within the Troon community. 鈥淭he new location within the Troon Municipal Buildings will provide customers with a modern, state-of-the-art facility, which is accessible to all.鈥 For more information about the services offered at Troon Library, visit https://www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/libraries
