New darts stall at Brierley Hill Market hits bullseye thanks to Luke Littler effect

Flight, Barrel & Points Darting Goods Ltd stocks everything a darts fan could need.

The new stall, run by Iain Mathers, Martyn Harper, Jason Kirkham, and stall manager Jayden Harper, comes at a time of surging interest in darts, largely attributed to the remarkable rise of professional player Luke Littler, aged 18, who has taken the sport by storm.

Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm, the stall in Brierley Hill Market in High Street sells a comprehensive range of darts, dartboards, flights and cases.

Its arrival is largely a result of the 鈥楲uke Littler effect鈥 following the young darts player鈥檚 historic 2025 World Championship win in January.

Aged 17 going on 18, Luke 鈥榯he Nuke鈥 – as he鈥檚 nicknamed – became the youngest PDC World Champion in darts history.

His win at the start of the year is credited with significantly boosting interest in the sport – especially among young people.

Junior darts academies across the region have reportedly seen membership increases and growing waiting lists.

Brierley Hill councillor Adam Davies recently visited the new stall and praised the team’s passion and commitment.

He said: “It was great to meet Iain and Jayden at their new darts stall.

“They have it all, and it was great to hear more about their business and what drives them.

鈥淭hey’re a passionate team and have some really exciting plans to help support and nurture younger talent in our local area.鈥

Martyn Harper, from Amblecote, one of the business partners who runs three darts academies, said: “Luke Littler has totally reformed the game of darts. It’s just gone crazy, so we had to jump on the bandwagon to see what we could do to provide darts and equipment. It originally started with a pop-up shop at the darts academies – and that was quite a bit of a success, it took us back. That’s when we thought we’d take it to a market stall.”

His son Jayden, who has played darts since he was six, manages the stall, located towards the back left of the market.

The 18-year-old, who has played for local teams including the Ten Arches in Stourbridge and Soccer Zone in Halesowen, has competed in the sport’s world championships three times including playing alongside Luke Littler but he’s taking time out from the sport due to a shoulder injury.

The team behind Flight, Barrel & Points Darting Goods Ltd have also thrown their weight behind supporting and nurturing young talent in the area in the hope of finding the next Luke Littler.

They held a Junior Academy Darts fun day at the Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill, on June 21 which brought together three local junior darts academies and offered young darts enthusiasts a chance to meet, have fun and receive valuable coaching.

The fun day received backing from leading names in the darts industry, with Target Darts, Winmau Darts, and Unicorn Darts sponsoring the event.

Councillor Davies, who attended along with ward colleague Councillor Wayne Little, commended the initiative, saying: “It really is great to see some of the leading names in darts backing the grassroots.”

With a dedicated team, a comprehensive product range and keenness to support grassroots darts, Flight, Barrel & Points Darting Goods Ltd has already become a big hit with the growing darts community in Brierley Hill and beyond.
