Dubai Municipality has announced a major overhaul of its Contractor and Engineering Consultancy Rating System, with the updated framework set to roll out in early 2026. According to Dubai Municipality, the revised framework will measure aspects such as technical capacity and expertise, project execution quality, regulatory and safety compliance, sustainability, and innovation practicesAuthorities say the goal is to raise construction standards across the board, ensuring that all firms uphold ethical and operational excellence while contributing to Dubai鈥檚 long-term urban development goals.In a parallel development, the Licensing and Professional Practice Registration Committee under Dubai Municipality has suspended two engineering consultancy offices for six months.During the suspension period, the two firms will be barred from obtaining permits for new projects within Dubai.
